Guillermo Forchino

Guillermo, an Argentine sculptor born in 1952, has been working in France since 1980 and explores the themes of solitude, old age, and environmental issues.
With great attention to detail, Guillermo primarily uses polyurethane resin. Once molded, each piece is meticulously hand-painted.

The fictional character who moved you the most?

The character simply referred to as "the man" in Jack London's short story "To Build a Fire," the 1908 version, particularly touched me.

The fictional character who frightened you the most?

Actually, it's not a single character but three mentally impaired brothers who act as a group in the scariest short story I've ever read. The story is called "The Decapitated Chicken" by Horacio Quiroga.

The fictional character you would most like to meet?

Jérôme Bosch, "El Bosco," to hear about his fantasies and see how he worked.

The fictional character you would like to reincarnate as?

Léon Dutilleul, the character from Marcel Aymé's short story "The Man Who Walked Through Walls."

The fictional world you would like to live in?

A non-dystopian world.

The fictional world you would not want to live in?

I would not want to live in this world as it seems destined to be in 50 years. I won't be here, but I regret it for my grandchildren.

The role you would like to play in a fictional work?

Argan, in "The Imaginary Invalid."

Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain.
